The standard electric station wagon derived from the Volkswagen ID concept. Space Vizzion will go into production in 2023.
In November 2019, Volkswagen presented the ID concept. Space Vizzion concept and said it was planning to launch this high-end electric station wagon in 2021. The manufacturer’s plans are coming to fruition but seem to have fallen behind schedule,
probably due to the coronavirus pandemic. Pictures of the ID. Space Vizzion in support, Ralf Brandstätter, General Manager of Volkswagen, has just announced the production of a “zero emission” vehicle with the code name Aero B for 2023.
The manager announces a “hunting” station wagon with a plush and spacious interior like that of a Phaeton, a very large trunk volume, high-tech design and a low coefficient of aerodynamic drag to optimize energy consumption.
A high-end model produced in Germany
Unsurprisingly, the car will be based on the modular SEM platform dedicated to electric vehicles from the Volkswagen Group. Ralf Brandstätter announces a range of up to 700 kilometers.
The electric station wagon, whose final name is still to be determined, will be assembled in the German Volkswagen plant in Emden. In the meantime, production of the all-new ID.4 electric SUV will begin at the plant in Zwickau.
