Not so long ago, the Russian representative office of Mazda made a decision to stop selling sedans and hatchbacks Mazda3 CX-30.
The reason was high prices for Japanese-made cars and, consequently, very low demand. But, as is known, the sacred place is not empty – the “crack” will be replaced by a compact “parquetnik” СХ-30, which will appear in dealerships January 15, 2021.
This time, Mazda did not step on the old rake and announced a localized production in Russia at the factory in Vladivostok, where now produced sedan Mazda6, as well as crossovers СХ-5 and CX-9. The new CX-30 is slightly smaller than the CX-5, in dimensions: the length of the car – 4395 mm, width – 1855 mm, and height – 1544 mm.
All Mazda CX- 30s for Russia will be equipped
with the only and familiar to us 2.0-liter 150 hp atmospheric gasoline engine, while the Japanese cars are installing the latest engine Skyactiv-X of the same volume, but more power (180 hp),
which combines work on the cycle Atkinson using the principle of compression ignition of fuel mixture – not from a spark, and compression (SPCCI technology). In addition, it works with a compact electric motor: in other words, the Japanese Mazda CX-30 is the so-called Mild Hybrid.
Unfortunately, there is no information about prices yet. But given the cost of the crossover Mazda CX-5 – in Russia, it starts at 1 709 000 rubles per front-drive version with a manual gearbox and the same 150-horsepower engine, we can assume that the СХ-30 in the “base” will be cheaper, but not much.
The fact is that the initial version of the Drive
will be available only in 2WD and on the mechanics is now very well equipped: LED-headlights, 7 airbags, air conditioning, 8.8-inch “tablet”, projection display, navigation, 8 speakers of audio system and the program G-Vectoring Control Plus.
Starting from an average set of Active (only 6-stage “automat”, rain and light sensors, two-zone “climate”, adaptive “cruise”) it is already possible to choose all-wheel drive СХ-30. There is also an even more expensive and “packaged” version of Supreme (“music” Bose, all-round view cameras, a set of active security systems),
which, however, by default comes with a “rag” salon. Leather is offered for a surcharge in one of the packages. But in any case, the interior of the new Mazda looks very presentable, has leather inserts in the front panel and doors, as well as decorative strips for carbon in the central tunnel.
But the back of the СХ-30 is tight, because its wheelbase is even shorter than that of the “crack”: 2655 mm instead of 2725 mm.
Mazda CX-30 will compete with such cars, as Renault Kaptur, Skoda Karoq, Subaru XV, Hyundai Creta, Mitsubishi ASX, Nissan Qashqai, and also front-drive Frenchmen Citroen C3 AirCross and Peugeot 3008. It is a pity that so far we can’t compare them by cost: the Japanese are very afraid of the next fall of the ruble exchange rate, so they promise to announce the prices of the ten days before the New Year.
