This Ford Mustang Warrior Edition was originally dedicated to those who serve the United States. But its 675 horses were recently auctioned off at Mecum Auctions in Las Vegas.
U.S. automakers usually arrange special programs for those who serve the country in the military, but usually it is simply a discount or special financing plans to reward them for their service.
From time to time, however, some manufacturers decide to do something more special. The Mustang Warrior from “Petty’s Garage” was one such car. Only eight cars were built in total, four of which are models of the year 2018. These 675-horsepower machines were produced in partnership with NASCAR legend Richard Petty and were only intended for sale to military personnel serving overseas. But one of these machines has just been auctioned off at Mecum Auctions. So get your checkbooks ready!
Based on the 2018 Mustang GT, an Edelbrock TVS 2650 compressor was added to increase the power of the 5.0-liter V8 to 675 horsepower and 732 Nm of torque, an increase of 215 horsepower and 162 Nm of torque. The transmission system was upgraded to deliver all that power to the ground and customers could choose between a manual or automatic transmission. The model in question was equipped with the six-speed manual transmission.
Ready for war
This muscle-car is also very well equipped and has some elements that differentiate it from the others. Petty’s Garage has also installed a rear spoiler, specific grills for the front grille, “Warrior” racing stripes, a “Petty’s Garage” badge at the rear and on the front grille. It also has a leather interior specific to this version, embroidered “Warrior” front floor mats, and a “Petty Blue” shift knob and dashboard autographed by Richard Petty himself.
The ad details don’t give much information about mileage, condition of the upholstery or other items, but it was auctioned off at the Mecum event in Las Vegas on November 13-14.
