Bugatti pays homage to the legends of aviation with a new, very limited series of its Chiron. Introducing the Chiron Sport “Les Légendes du Ciel”!
New special edition for the Bugatti Chiron Sport. After the “110 years” series that celebrated last year the anniversary of the birth of the Alsatian manufacturer, here is the limited series “Les Légendes du Ciel”.
As its name suggests, this one pays tribute to the legends of aeronautics and more particularly to the Bugatti pilots of the last century, most of whom flew in the French air force, such as Albert Divo and Robert Benoist, or in Italy, such as Bartolomeo “Meo” Costantini.
A specific color reminiscent of the planes of the 1920s
The model thus incorporates many of the characteristics of the large aircraft of the past. Starting with a specific paint “Gris Serpent” in matte gray color which is a modern interpretation of the exterior color of the planes of the 1920s. This color covers the entire vehicle and is intersected by a bright white center band that runs from front to back via the telescopic wing.
Other special features: The “Legends of Heaven” logo is found on both front fenders, while the French flag colors are on the front of the rocker panels, which are made of black carbon fiber.
The front grille has also been given special attention. It is coated in glossy black paint and its interior slats are made of laser-marked, deep-drawn aluminum. “On them is reproduced the dynamic pattern of stitched seams that is also found on the leather seats, reminiscent of planes flying in formation in an air parade,” Bugatti explains.
Only 20 copies
When the doors are opened, the special edition logo is projected onto the asphalt and brushed aluminum sill bars bearing the inscription “Legends from Heaven” appear.
Once on board, a full grain leather in “Gaucho” color is discovered, only enhanced with aluminum ornaments. The “Legends of Heaven” logo appears on the headrests while the door panels show a sketch of a race scene between the Nieuwpoort 17 aircraft and a Bugatti Type 13. To top it all off, each model benefits from a numbered plaque as only 20 copies will be produced.
The Bugatti Chiron Sport “Les Légendes du Ciel” will go into production at the end of 2020 with the traditional W16 8.0-liter engine with 1,500 hp and 1,600 Nm of torque (420 km/h peak speed). It will be offered at a unit price of 2.88 million euros… excluding taxes.
